Dr. Gregory Whelan
Dr. Gregory Whelan is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, a member of the ADA and AAPD, as well as the AZ Dental Association. Prior to opening Pleasant Pediatric Dentistry, Colonel Whelan served for 21 years in the US Public Health Service, assigned to the Indian Health Service.
Dr. Whelan graduated from St. Louis University and received his dental degree from Southern Illinois University — School of Dental Medicine. He completed his Pediatric Dental residency, as Chief Resident, at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. Dr. Whelan’s passions include ensuring the provision of the highest quality pediatric dental care to his patients and assisting with the implementations of best practices throughout his profession.
Dr. Whelan, his wife, and three children are happy to call Peoria home. Dr. Whelan enjoys spending his free time training and competing in triathlons.

Dr. Steven Petruzzi
Dr. Steven Petruzzi was born and raised in Palm Springs, CA. He graduated from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA and received his dental degree from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. After dental school, he attended a general practice residency through Brown University at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. He then completed his Pediatric Dental Training at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO.
Having had enough of the cold weather and snow, he moved to Phoenix, AZ, to get back to the desert and hot weather. Being a true kid at heart, he knew having fun is a top priority. It is his goal to make dental visits fun and enjoyable. Dr. Petruzzi is married to Selena and has three children, Benjamin, Caraline, and Alison. He stays active in the community by coaching youth sports. In his spare time, he enjoys anything sports related and spending time with his family.
Dr. Petruzzi is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and belongs to the American Dental Association and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.


Kendal, Office Manager
Kendal has been working in the dentistry field for over 18 years! She is the office manager at Pleasant Pediatric Dentistry and absolutely loves being able to work with children every day.
Kendal takes care of all the paperwork in the office and makes sure that everything stays on schedule. She has expertise in financial services, as well as dealing with patient’s insurance needs. She also has a certification in CPR and is a lifeguard and swim instructor.

Jamie, Dental Assistant
Jamie has been working in the field of dentistry for six years. Jamie graduated from Altrain Dental Assisting Academy. She is a Certified Dental Assistant. She holds certifications in Coronal Polishing and Radiography (X-ray).
Jamie enjoys working in the field of dentistry. Specifically, she enjoys educating children and parents on the importance and techniques of good dental hygiene. She enjoys working with children and having fun with them during their dental visits.

Brittany, Dental Assistant
Brittany is a graduate of Phoenix College Dental Assisting Program. She also holds an associates degree in science. Brittany also has certifications in Radiography, Coronal Polishing, and Infection Control Procedures. Working in the dental field for the past seven years, Brittany really enjoys interacting with the children and parents at Pleasant Pediatric Dentistry.
She enjoys the friendly atmosphere of the office and making children feel at ease during their dental appointments. Brittany also has experience working to help children at a tutoring center. In her free time, she participates in running and other outdoor activities with her family as well as watching a good baseball game.

Aile, Front Desk/Dental Assistant
Aile has over six years working in dentistry. She works as a dental assistant, but she has also trained to work in the front and back office. Aile does everything from chairside assisting to taking x-rays to administering oral conscious sedation. She has certifications in infection control, orthodontic assisting, and more.
Aile loves working with kids. She enjoys helping them learn to trust the staff — turning a bad experience into a good one — giving her a great feeling of accomplishment. In addition, Aile likes being able to teach children the importance of good oral hygiene.

Emily
Emily has been in the dentistry field for nine years. She has certifications in x-rays, coronal polish, and CPR. One of the best parts of Emily’s job is to help kids get over their fears of the dentist. Outside of work, Emily is the busy mother of two boys.

Dani
Dani has been working in the dental field for just under a year and uses each day to build her experience and knowledge. She is CPR certified and is committed to providing you and your family with the absolute best customer service. She loves working with families!
Dani has an Associates in Arts Degree from Glendale Community College and is working toward her Bachelor in Arts of Communication Degree from Grand Canyon University.

Autumn, Certified Dental Assistant
Autumn has been in dentistry for over a year. She completed the DA Program at the University of New Mexico and holds certifications in coronal polishes and radiologic proficiency. She believes in teaching children good oral hygiene habits and helping kids with dental anxiety conquer their fears and feel comfortable in the chair. Autumn was born in New Mexico and hopes to have children of her own in the future!
