Dr. Gregory Whelan

Dr. Gregory Whelan

Dr. Gregory Whelan is Board Certified in Pediatric Dentistry. Prior to opening Pleasant Pediatric Dentistry, Colonel Whelan served for 21 years in the US Public Health Service, assigned to the Indian Health Service.

Dr. Whelan graduated from St. Louis University and received his dental degree from Southern Illinois University - School of Dental Medicine. He completed his Pediatric dental residency, as Chief Resident, at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. Dr. Whelan's passions include ensuring the provision of the highest quality pediatric dental care to his patients and assisting with the implementations of 'best practices' throughout his profession.

Dr. Whelan, his wife, and three children are happy to call Peoria home. Dr. Whelan enjoys spending his free time biking and hiking with his family.

Dr. Steven Petruzzi

Dr. Steven Petruzzi

Dr. Steven Petruzzi was born and raised in Palm Springs, CA. He graduated from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA and received his dental degree from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. After dental school he attended a General Practice Residency through Brown University at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. He then completed his Pediatric Dental Training at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO.

Having enough of the cold weather and snow he moved to Phoenix, AZ to get back to the heat and desert climate and now resides in Peoria. Dr. Petruzzi is married to his wife, Selena, and has three children, Benjamin, Caraline, and Alison. He stays active in the community by coaching youth sports. In his spare time he enjoys working out, obstacle and trial races, anything sports related, and spending time with his family.

Since Dr. Petruzzi was a child he always knew he wanted to be a pediatric dentist and wanted to make the dentist a non-scary experience. He is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and belongs to the American Dental Association and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry as well as the local chapters of those groups.

Kendal - Office Manager

Kendal - Office Manager

Kendal has been working in the dentistry field for over 12 years! She is the office manager at Pleasant Pediatric Dentistry, and absolutely loves being able to work with children every day.

Kendal takes care of all the paperwork in the office, and makes sure that everything is staying on schedule. She has expertise in financial services, as well as dealing with patient's insurance needs. She also has a certification in CPR, and is a lifeguard and swim instructor.

Kendal has been married to her husband, Mike, for 30 years and together they have a 7-year-old son. She loves spending time with her family and traveling to new destinations!

Heather - Dental Assistant

Heather joined our office in the autumn of 2010. She has been a pediatric dental assistant for 17 years, and is a skilled dental assistant. Heather is CPR certified and holds certification for coronal polishing as well as taking X-rays. She says she, "enjoys my job and finds it very rewarding. Especially when a fearful child leaves the office with a smile on their face and anxious to return for their next appointment."

Heather is married and has 2 beautiful children, a son Carson, who 13 yrs old; and a daughter Miley, who is 7 yrs old.

Amy - Dental Assistant

Amy is a graduate of Arizona College of Allied Health and has been happily working in the dental field for the past 4 years. Amy is certified in Coronal Polishing, Radiography and Infection Control Procedures along with her CPR certification.

Amy enjoys working at Pleasant Pediatric Dentistry as she has always enjoyed working with children. She holds an associate degree in Early Childhood Education. At Pleasant Pediatric Dentistry she enjoys educating children and parents of good oral health and hygiene techniques. Amy has four children of her own and loves spending time traveling with them and her husband.

Brittany - Dental Assistant

Brittany is a graduate of Phoenix College Dental Assisting Program. She also holds an Associates Degree in Science. Brittany also has certifications in Radiography, Coronal Polishing and Infection Control Procedures. Working in the dental field for the past two years, Brittany really enjoys interacting with the children and parents at Pleasant Pediatric Dentistry.

She enjoys the friendly atmosphere of the office and making children feel at ease during their dental appointments. Brittany also has experience working to help children at a tutoring center. In her free time, she participates in running and other outdoor activities with her family as well as watching a good baseball game.

Jamie  - Dental Assistant

Jamie has been working in the field of dentistry for 3 years. Jamie graduated from Altrain Dental Assisting Academy. She is a certified Dental Assistant. She holds certifications in Coronal Polishing and Radiography (X ray).

Jamie enjoys working in the field of dentistry. Specifically, she enjoys educating children and parents on the importance and techniques of good dental hygiene. She enjoys working with children and having fun with them during their dental visits. Jamie has two daughters ages 5 and 3 years. They are a family who likes to spend time outdoors. Her children participate in soccer and she enjoys watching them play.
